I Rewrote My Own Song Poem by Shirley Harrison

I Rewrote My Own Song

I've walked through life
sometimes without a friend
and even at times
my own hand I'd lend
to those I never even knew
I've walked my life
in every emotional shoe

I'm here to tell my story straight
don't wait for life to come,
please, don't wait
life brings sorrow
life brings grief
embrace each day
life is brief.
