I Rule It All Poem by Janine Alyssa Navarro

I Rule It All

ith a soft pat on the world’s head
I ruled all lands
tall, pretty, ugly and incomplete.
The city lights knew of my name
the mere whisper of the first syllable
sent them hissing.
The walls stretched to castles
pillars sang me songs
the bells were never put to sleep.
The skies are my palette
one color bleeds to another
until it rained stories to resound.
I am foreign, I am a stranger
but I rule it all
so everyone can belong.
