I See It Now Poem by Michael P. Johnson

I See It Now

I see the cross I see the love
I see the dreadful pain
I look inside and then above
And all is not in vain

My Lord my God I’ve been a fool
Along the devil’s way
I’ve walked and lived his evil tool
Until this very day

But now dear God I’ve seen The Light
The price You chose to pay
I’ll quit against The Truth to fight
And turn from sin away

Beneath the cross Your blood I’ve seen
The Truth is all to plain
Allow that love to intervene
And let me start again

Strengthen my faith this childlike hope
Make pure this heart of shame
Employ on me Life’s launder soup
Give me a brand new name

How many more my God remain?
How many more like me?
How many fools yet still profane
That comes to set them free

O Lord dear God You’ve blessed me true
My soul is in Your hand
This heart once mine belongs to You
And serves at your command

I’m Yours my God to do at will
Each day and every night
Throughout this life and further still
As righteous bride in white
