I See Its True Poem by Michael P. Johnson

I See Its True

For many years for truth I’ve sought
From those I thought were wise
Until I read Your Son’s report
That opened up my eyes

I see quite plain Your word is true
That Jesus chose to die
That through His blood there’s birth anew
For sinners such as I

I see my Saviour on The Tree
I see Him Lord and King
I pray His Spirit come to me
That I His praise may sing

Forgive my failures of the past
Permit a brand new start
Give grace to serve You first and last
Let truth reign in my heart

Remove from me my selfish will
Baptise my flesh in Flame
That he who’d rob, who’d cheat and kill
Would hold in me no claim

I see its You who gave me sight
Who gave me faith and hope
Who keeps me safe both day and night
Who gives me strength to cope

It seemed far-fetched to me before
Too vague to understand
But now through Christ I’m more than sure
All life is in Your Hand

There’s nothing left for me to do
The future’s all too plain
My life my God I give to You
All else would be in vain…
