I Seek Your Heart Poem by BASAB CHAUDHURI

I Seek Your Heart

Already there is a lot of fire -
burning,
do not light a lamp,
it will not serve any purpose.
Come to the terrace,
see the night sky,
those stars far away from us
still speak a thousand words,
you must listen to them.
Do not allow your heart to stop.
As long as you're alive,
your body can give some warmth.

There is a lot of fire -
burning,
yet I seek your heart
for warmth.

Do not light a lamp,
stay near -
your heart
and warmth.
