I Seem To Remember...I Don'T Really Care Poem by David Whalen

I Seem To Remember...I Don'T Really Care

I seem to remember
eyes of brown…
But then again
I’m not really sure

I’m only around
Every now and then
I don’t look into them
Much anymore

I seem to remember
Soft touch neath my fingers
Cool Walks in September
Vague memories linger

You’re still very near
Yet you’ve gone so far away
I seem to remember…
but just what…I can’t say

There’s a wall grown between us
Built with lies and mistrust
Bonds once strong and steadfast
Have crumbled to dust

I seem to remember…
Was it something to share?
Well…the magic’s long gone now
And I no longer care
