I Sent Love To You Poem by Tim Roper

I Sent Love To You

Last night,
‘neath sparkling mantel of midnight blue
I, from meadow quite and still,
Sent Love to you.

I laid it on the wings of wind
And, as I point the way,
Asked the moon to see it through
‘Till the break of day.

A tender little whisper
Of love and simple prayer.
Soft as the downy pillow
Beneath your pretty hair.

Morning now, and love should be
lay near to you,
As laying with the Daisy,
The morning dew.
