I Shook Myself Poem by alex haywood

I Shook Myself

Rating: 5.0

I wanted so to love you
match the heart
to the body
I shook myself
to remember
that I could be one like you
to fertilize the field of your heart
for affection to bloom
then in a flash
I saw you were just
a grainy black and white
of a brilliant painting
I once knew
so I shook myself again
and love
fell out of my pockets
