I Should Forget Poem by Henrik Somogyi

I Should Forget

I should:

Forget your word,
Forget your text,
Forget the wish
To die the next.

Forget your eyes,
Forget your sight,
Forget your vision,
With endless fight.

Forget your hair,
Forget the breeze,
Forget the waves -
Who are to freeze.

Forget your hand,
Forget your arms,
Forget your skin,
Bringing just harms.

Forget your legs,
Forget the way,
Forget your steps,
As no way to stay.

Forget your ears,
Forget your voice,
Forget the church,
The half-promised choice.

Forget your hug,
Forget as well,
Forget to long for
The welcome of hell.

Forget your call,
Forget your tune,
Forget the music,
The violin Moon.

Forget your soul,
Forget the fire,
Forget the silence,
The fount of desire.

Forget the spring,
Forget the winter,
Forget the fall,
The old love-killer.

Forget your smile,
Forget your joy,
Forget your laugh -
My fragile toy!

Forget your minute,
Forget your day,
Forget the whole time,
The cheating decay.

Forget your hint,
Forget the brain,
Forget your wisdom,
The cooling rain.

Forget your mouth,
Forget your kiss,
Forget the love,
The painful miss.

Forget my tears,
Forget my sorrow,
Forget the forget,
The wartime hollow.

Forget the water,
Forget the bread,
Forget the begger,
Without his head.

Forget the death,
Forget the pray,
It's long ago
When I passed away.

Violet the hangman,
As touches the rope,
Levitates a dark mane
In pool of the hope.
