I Simply Will Not Smile Poem by freya Wood

I Simply Will Not Smile

I can’t be happy for I’m alone,
I’m alone and on my own,
Tears will run from each eye to cheek,
But though I’m sad I won’t speak,
I will hide and cry for a while,
And I simply will not smile.

My eyes will glisten, I wipe tears away,
I try to be calm but still my sorrows stay,
The clouds will come to cry with me,
The rain will slowly set me free,
You look at me so I feel worthwhile,
Yet I simply will not smile.

My heart is crushed my trust is dead,
All these feelings rushing through my head,
I’m used to this to this pain,
But it won’t stop I’m going insane,
I know you think I’m versatile,
But I simply will not smile.
