I Still Love You Poem by Ashlee Hobbs

I Still Love You

Rating: 5.0

I want to find the sum of our love.

Subtract all the what ifs,
Tessellate accidents with memories,
Identify your feelings for me,
Locate the center of my heart,
Lengthen the years we will spend combined.

Lets get together and find the average,
Odds are we were meant to be,
Values would always multiply,
Evaluate how we would end up.

Y intercept the inevitable,
Oval conversations with others are unnecessary,
Union of the two would change percents into fractions.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this poem as an assignment for one of my classes at school. It was hard to write because it wasn't long after the break-up. Trying to find a way to spell out 'I Love You' was also kind of tricky.
There were other options, but I chose to write a poem about love using math words. It was to also show how I felt about my ex, in words, at that point of time too.
After he read the poem, nothing changed between us. Now looking back, I'm happy nothing did.
