I Still See You Poem by Braeden Smith

I Still See You

You have been gone for over a month
Yet somehow, I still see you
Your presence is missing from my life
Yet somehow, I still see you
I see you in birds that fly into my path
I see you in the wildflowers on the side of the road
I see you in the pond behind our house
And in all cats and dogs with their small paws and toes

You have been gone for too long now
Yet somehow, I still see you
Your light has moved from earth to sky
Yet somehow, I still see you
I see you in rain or sun
I see you in the stars and moon
I see you in rivers and on nature walks
And in clouds, especially those you showed to me when we'd ride in the afternoons

You are gone, and I know that…
Yet somehow, I still see you
In all my favorite things and yours
I will always be able to see you
