When no eyes was looking, I did take a look
At a book that I knew was someone else's book—
Knew it's pages were filled with secrets, and tales untold
I couldn't help but steal it, my heart felt so cold
Weighty as stone of grave but it felt like gold
In my hands and shone so bright and bold
I couldn't resist my devil, I just had to hold
The stories within, they called to me so loud
But now I've done a wrong, I feel so bad
I've stolen from another, my heart so sad
I hope they'll find it, and forgive me, I'm told
For it's because the love of words, I couldn't hold
