I Swear It Is True Poem by T.A. Rosenbaum

I Swear It Is True

Then
He told us of sadness, he taught us of pain
He showed us compassion, though in vain
He made us believe and brought to us home
But the joy was fleeting, now so alone

Behind
Wandering, Oh! mist I love thee
Hide from all I've fallen to my knees
Vapory Haze, I hate you
Even from me, you hide what is true

Before
Once we stood hand in hand
Now, gone like sand
Through a gentle glass that makes it thus
Gently, Gently so softly killing us
Make it thus

For ahead I am ready to take my way
My vagond voyage so far and away
My peace is here
I'll leave this fear
It is then, It is behind, It is before
And when I find what's in store
I'll send for you
I swear it's true
