I thought I knew what I was getting into,
I thought it would give me time to prepare.
I didn't realize how hard it would be,
I didn't realize how much I would care,
I thought the pain would come slowly,
I thought it would give me time.
I didn't realize the force it would bring,
I didn't realize that the time would fly by.
I thought this would be a short thing at first,
I thought my feelings wouldn't grow as much.
I didn't realize how serious it would get,
I didn't realize how big my love for you would be.
