I Tried To Tell You Poem by Tracey Hanton

I Tried To Tell You

Rating: 3.0

I can't believe where here
It seems so unreal
I wished you would have listened
I wish you would have cared
If only you had talked with God or
Some other Godly figure
they could have told you
They would have cared about the demise of your family

I tired to point you back to the Word
But you were so focused on carnality still
You were like a woodpecker
Slowly pecking away
Self- esteem
Godliness
And values
So concerned with your pride
and not really seeing it
blinded by your own self righteousness
didn't even know ego had set up residence

tried not to be a stumbling block
hoping, praying and crying still
all to no avail

Knew that it would happen
Saw all the signs
Couldn't stop it
Like a train
Comin to fast
Until
BAM!
It was too late
The damage already done
Thank God this is not the final round
Or the devil would have already won!
