I Trusted You Poem by growing out of a shatterd dream

I trusted you

I loved you I thought you loved me too
You wanted magic I am magic I showed you
You were scared I ran away
I had hurt you scared you
So I ran I thought it was because of you
It was because it hurt me you broke my heart
I was a beast in your eyes
But I’m beautiful you just can’t see it
I’m a creature of the night
I’m the shadows of the night
I’m the beauty of the night
Why can’t you understand that?
You are just scared of anything that is different
You are just like the rest of them the ones that
Burned our houses tried to kill us well why
Why would you do this to me I thought you loved me
You lied once you found out I wasn’t like everyone
Else you were scared of me you are a coward
Then you wanted to shoot me you didn’t though
You shot him because he was going to hurt me
Then you were scared of all of us except me
You wanted to protect me
You shot at him the man I loved
He loved me too you got upset and ran
If you had killed me
He would have killed you
How could you even think of killing me?
Was I ever anything but kind to you?
You will never be right for me there was always something
Something missing I didn’t know what it was
I was too scared to show you who I really was
The thing that was missing was I couldn’t be myself around you
I now know I was right you could never understand
You will never be different you were protecting the me
That you used to know you were protecting me for what
We used to have you just wanted the old me
You are really scared of me
I guess they were right about you
I can’t believe I was wrong about you
