I’ve Read Your Book Poem by Michael P. Johnson

I’ve Read Your Book

I’ve read Your book I’ve seen the end
I drank The Truth as wine
I see Your Son as Lord and friend
Allow His Ghost be mine

Allow Your radiance shine on me
Let Jesus be my well
Allow these eyes through Christ to see
That I the world may tell

I seek Your guidance high above
Allow me share Your cup
Allow this child from selfless love
And righteousness to sup

The faith I have is yours alone
In truth I’m more than blessed
Soften of me each part of stone
That I may pass life’s test

Without Your love without your grace
I’d still be lost and blind
I’d have no hope to see Your face
I’d fail life’s road to find

My future was of grave concern
Before my lamp You lit
Eternity would see me burn
Within hell’s flaming pit

But now The Light of truth has dawned
No longer in the shade
I saw the signs I’m truly warned
And now I’m not afraid

No ear has heard no eye has seen
What lies beyond Your gates
But trusting Jesus as His queen
Eternity awaits
