I Want A Lonely Grave Poem by Shalom Freedman

I Want A Lonely Grave

I want a lonely grave
I don't want too much grief
I don't want stones and flowers
I want to be remembered
If at all
For my caring and my kindness
I want the few closest
To go on with their lives and their problems
With no guilt and no terrible regret
But with necessary sadness
And quiet consolation at some good memory of us together
And as for me
Let God take care of the rest
If there is a rest.
