I Want My Daddy. Poem by chantel weston

I Want My Daddy.

'a mans role
is not to nurtur
its to be strong
to be the provider.'

i dont care what they say
i just want a daddy!
i used to have one...
but i lost him to the fear as being seen as weak.
but to me you are not tough if you dont show emotion
no your a push over
that needs to learn to be strong enough to show me
that you are proud of me
that you are hurt by the things that i said.

grow up and get over that teen mentality
that real men dont cry
and shed a tear
right here in front of me...
im waiting
but you aren't yeilding
im done.
