I Want To Poem by Philip Carter

I Want To

I want to walk across the grass
At a very gentle pace
I want to feel the soft breeze
Blow gently on my face
I want to see the white clouds
Slowly drift across the sky
I want to feel the sunshine
As on the grass I lie
I want to hear the birds sing
And the buzzing of the bees
The sound of the leaves rustling
In the nearby trees
I want to hear my footsteps
Scrunch the loose stones on the path
And hear the happy sound
Of a young lady's laugh
You may think I am greedy
Because I want so much
But I would forgo it all
For the feel of a human's touch.
