I Want To Be

I WANT TO BE by poet Henry Ochiagha
I will be this; I will be that, this is what I will be
I want to be the greatest poet but yet to write a single poem
I will be this; I will be that, this is what I will be
I will like to be a Supreme Court judge but nepotism, injustice and corruption are my watch words
I will be this; I will be that, this is what I will be
I want to be a journalist but abhors investigative reporting
I will be this; I will be that, this is what I will be
I want to be a freedom fighter like Nelson Mandela but hate spending most of my life in jail
I will be this; I will be that, this is what I will be
I want to be loved like Malala Yousafzai but hate to be shot in the head
I will be this; I will be that, this is what I will be
I want to develop atomic bomb like Enrico Femi did in his time but not familiar with chemical elements
I will be this; I will be that, this is what I will be
I want to conquer cities like Hernan Cortes but not ready to burn my ship
I will be this; I will be that, this is what I will be
I want to fly a jet fighter like Chuck Yeager but am afraid of height
I will be this; I will be that, this is what I will be
I want to be a professional truck driver but yet to learn how to ride a tricycle
I will be this; I will be that, this is what I will be
I would like to be a captain but yet to undergo the fundamental training require in becoming a sailor
I will be this; I will be that, this is what I will be
I want to be like you but yet to be me
I want to be rich but yet to discover my divine purpose
I will be this; I will be that, this is what I will be
It may look absurd but that's were the benefits lies
