I Want To Clear The Air



i want to say
that i’m sorry
that it

happened
like it did,

that your
kisses are
incendiary
and hang the sun
in the sky,

and that

i haven’t
felt quite
as complete
as when
my arms
wrapped around
your slim waist

and we
leveled the
city and reined
in the horizon
with all
that could
have been,

but
never
