I Want You Poem by Gary Winkel

I Want You

Surround in me.
Surrender
to a lover and a thief.
Break the ice
and call off the guard.

Don't protect definitions
from criminal acts.
I want you,
not your strategies
or hardbound interpretations.

Connected to the stars.
Negotiating the walls.
A castellan of closed doors,
yet your beauty moves through me
straight to desire.

Oh, I need to beach
where only gentle waves appear.

(1980's)
