How healthy I was
Until they made me
Blow up the candles
And cut the cake
In front of family and friends
I felt like age was catching up
And tugging at my bottom
Where the roots are
They were in ecstasy
As I followed their directions
Patiently, something
Was welling up inside me
Like I was on trial
Before a public court
And my cheeks went red
How healthy I was
Until I knew I was fifty nine
And sure I was deteriorating
From the inside where
The core is
They laughed and cheered
Loud enough to notify me
It was night and time
To connect and recede
The best I can
