I Will Call Poem by Sam Speirs

I Will Call

Rating: 5.0

I will call you, when you don’t expect it
I will be there, whenever you ask
I will stand up for you, to my friends or to the world
I will hold your hand, and lend my coat when you’re cold

I will annoy you, but never too much
I won’t ever lie to you, even if I’d like to
I will share my hopes with you, and listen to yours
I won’t tell you my nightmares, but my fears you can know

I will hold you in my arms in darkness
I will be a gentleman, and never take advantage
I won’t boast, except to say that you are with me
I will be there to listen when you just want to talk

I will kiss you, with sweetness or passion
I will be yours as much as you will be mine
I will cherish every moment we have together
I will make you laugh, with me or at me equally

I won’t be with you forever, for we are still so young
I might make you cry, but the thought of that makes me sad
I will let you down sometimes I am after all a man
I will apologise every time I do, and meant it

I won’t cheat on you, nor will I want to
I will be on time, most of the time
I will let you have time if you need it
But I will come and find you before too long

I will get jealous when other men like you
I won’t be jealous of your friends
I won’t be angry if you leave, and we must be friends
Perhaps I will love you, or perhaps it will end
