I Wish Poem by Mark. A Heathcote

I Wish

I wish I could cartwheel in front of your eyes.
And see your soul falling back in love.
Like, it was so much fun.
I wish I could 'stock car ride' and cash in on you.
I'd never back up, that's for sure.
I'd interlock with you.
Moving slowly forward - that's just what we'd do.
I wish I could steal you away tonight.
And take your hand to find my way.
I wish I could kiss you and close my eyes.
And see the stars looking back through an open window.
And know that I'm falling in love.
Simply because I know I should
You know it's not so hard if we tremble and hold hands.
And there's a divisible star, a fire in your heart.
Burning for me like mine for you.
And then we could marry and live very happily.
Making every day our song, don't you know.
