I Wish (Sonnet #264) Poem by Tina Baaklini

I Wish (Sonnet #264)

My aspirations are yours somehow,
Everything my heart longs to fulfil,
Your eyes reflect my dreams; I can't say how,
With you I can climb the highest hill.

I wish I could write you with red petals,
So my words may scent the air like Autumn leaves,
Thus birds would sing love hymns at dawn's hours,
As all flowers turn red, touched by love's breeze.

I wish I could paint you with a brush of light,
Paint your tender heart with rainbow colors,
Then draw your picture on the moon at night
So stars would fall in love and waltz in splendor.

Alas, I'm only skilled in using words
To convey the greatness of your love to the world.
