Can't believe it.
I won a motor scooter- a Yamaha Pasola!
My five dollar
ticket was a wonderful
blessing
The First Prize at
the Lucky Draw- you bet
In Equatorial Hotel
In Malaysia when
The Japan Club took part
in the Charity Bazaar.
Soon I was interviewed by the
newspaper reporter
And a photo of me
smiling beside the Pasola
Too busy the next day
Too excited
To exhausted
Never saw my photo in the
next morning's newspaper
Thank God, my daughter's
music teacher
Recognized it was me, the mother
Then congratulated her
The Pasola arrived three
days later
Excellent! I wondered what to
do with it
No confidence to ride on it
Even hesitated to touch it!
So
The sad Pasola sat for three months
in the same garage as my car!
Then one day nagged by my guilty
conscience and pity
Realized I was selfish
So
Took action
So
with white helmet and sports shoes
My heart in my mouth sat on the
Pasola
And one click of husband's camera
Assured me I was not alone
Finally, within the compound I was
trying to ride my
Pasola
Cheered by the family
I was happy, happppy
But
enjoyment was short-lived
The unsteady Pasola swerved towards the
garden fence!
Thank God, I didn't
fall
Just
Shocked!
So
again the Pasola 'retired' in good
order
in the garage
Thank God,
Out of the two year sleep,
My Pasola was still
sturdy
Then March nineteen eighty-six
Came news of our returning to
Japan
Still no plan for my Pasola's
destination
Had to pray for a
solution
Then there came a kind University
student
And he 'rescued' the Pasola for a low
price
Satisfied, he rode on it with success
Thank God, you are indispensable
my Pasola
I will always remember
you in my heart.
