Toshie Nohara

The Burnt Cake - Poem by Toshie Nohara

Pretty icing with
fresh flowers
Burnt cake on
the table
Twelve year old
comforting herself
Next attempt could
be better
There's still plenty
of flour
And butter
And eggs and
sugar
And I am going
to bake again
and again
You see!
