Icarus Poem by Kriztan Rei Palces

Icarus

he's known the story, and yet dared fly
now he's got the gods and gravity to defy
he is a fool for he's known to scry
took off with wings made as the candle cries

midair, there was awe in his eyes
for under his wings, true beauty lies
so he flew and flew and flew up high
not realizing what was about to shine

the sun stared with intent to fry
and the gods watched as his wings caught fire
desperately he prays to the gods for his life
but the wikipedia says Prayer Denied

had the gods wanted poor icarus to fly
they would have given him wings attached to his spine
and had i wanted poor ikerrus to fly
i would have made all lines rhyme with why.
