Ice, Death And Me Poem by Zuellah Huma Ahmed

Ice, Death And Me

In stillness of cold
Bare feet, heavy chest
I stood for long
My lashes crossed
There seemed in distance
A flame burning upright
And yet within
It seemed so out of sight
In stillness of cold
I had no choice
It seemed as if I had
Within me; a great divide
Such broken, such devoid
The ravine inside me, so full of void
In the shallow ditches
In the deep trenches
The stillness continued
To the broken senses
I stood for long
With burning cold blue
The ice beneath had started to melt
It teared and teared
Until it could bear no more
I sunken and swallowed
By the diffused glass
Could still see the flame
More further away
Yet burning Upright!
