Ice Like Fire Poem by Asma Khan

Ice Like Fire

Rating: 4.0

You rose from the dust of my dreams
never been dreamt before
A part from the known
A part from the unknown

I drew your image in the smoke
blown out of the cold breath
A shadow from the past
A shadow from the present

The dusky skies brought the news
your absence was covering moon's face
A part from the light
A part from the dark

Each day of the passing season
taught me how much I lost
A part from the life
A part from the death

Your existence in my life
was a mere coincidence of intentions
A part from the hopes
A part from the desires

How often do I still search you
surprises my attention
A part from the happiness
A part from grieves

Here I am content and growing
sabotaging your house of cards
A part from the reality
A part from the imagination

I want to hear your heart asking you
the account of your unfairness
A part from me
A part from you

Let's cry together to wipe out
All the hidden tears from these eyes
A part from our memories
A part from our dreams
