Idle Thoughts Poem by Joshua Mccoy

Idle Thoughts

Darkness isn’t so bad compared to the blaring boastful light.
I will always rather be drowned in the truth than float among the bubbly surface of a lie.
Not another façade or virtual reality of happiness if you please
The actual
The factual
Reality at it’s lowest
Is admitted into this hip-hop jumping
Music pumping night club of dirty delights
So says me
THE BOUNCER
Self awareness is better than blissful ignorance in the wondrous unknown in the case for survival is it not?
Don’t you agree?
With abundant intellect
The better off you will be
When confronted with what you barely understand
When the pressing current situation demands
An answer right then and there
And the people involved don’t really care
Although death could occur and they would throw a fit
But then that would be the end of it
