If Poem by Omiat Kings

If

If a flower comes from rain
why won't a smile come from pain?

I wish the thoughts
that cause me hate
would vanish so
I may chase fate

Maybe 'tis true that
I shall endure
Maybe tribulations today
will mean a happy future

I will be mad
and I can't always satisfy
but if I'm positive in spirit
I believe my heart can fly

When I crack a note
and put one in dismay
I'll find my peace
and continue my day

Darkness comes
and woe will chase
but neither will crush
my joyful ways

I won't hold my head
or keep the worst to my soul
for if I just keep shining
I'll meet any goal

The Good Lord I thank
for giving me a gift
that will remain while in storm
or in the heaviest mist

From today as I anger
until the day I pass
I'll forever embrace the sunshine
that can make this soul last.
