If I Could Poem by Desiree Whitamore

If I Could

if i could get a line out
i'd tell you off for this.
if i could get a sound out
i'd yell at you for it.

if i could move an inch
i'd try to run a mile
if i could hear the truth
i'd still be in denial.

this mind set's got me going.
you think that i don't see.
but all the while hurting,
has really prepared me.

i can taste your imperfections
i can see your empty face.
if i really could forget you,
don't you think i'd run away?
