If I Could Fly! - Poem by Helen Teres James

How I wish if I could fly!
I would like to go
Up in the air and
Would love to
Feel the air, fresh.

How I wish I would have wings!
To flutter in the blue sky,
Like a lark or a butterfly.
I wonder how beautiful it would look
The earth below!

Keep dreaming dear, for you shall fly
Up, up and away into the sky
Even with feet planted firmly on the ground
Imagination is the path you have found
Taking you where you haven't been before
Where there is much, much to adore
And when you return from your heavenly spin
Just remember how to do it again.
