If I Died Before I Wake Poem by Ojeikpo Elijah

If I Died Before I Wake

Rating: 5.0

If I died before I wake,
My soul would soar and heaven take.
No more worries, no more pain,
Only pure joy, without any chain.
My loved ones may mourn and cry,
But I'll be watching from the sky.
My body may lay in a peaceful sleep,
But my spirit will continue to leap.
I'll be free from this earthly strife,
Finally at peace, in the afterlife.
Though I'll be gone, my memories will stay,
In the hearts of those who love me every day.
If I died before I wake,
My soul will ascend, for heaven's sake.
So when the time comes, don't shed a tear,
For I'll be in a better place, without any fear.
Just remember the times we shared,
And know that my love for you never wavered.
If I died before I wake,
I'll be watching over you, for goodness sake.
So live your life, make each moment count,
For when we meet again, we'll rejoice and mount.
Farewell for now, my dear ones,
Until we reunite, under the suns.
If I died before I wake,
My soul will soar, for heaven's sake.
