If I had twenty thousand years ahead,
Today, I'd rest my weary legs
And for a time,
I'd wake and make my bed
To chat with friends, centuries ahead
I'd love at least
A thousand women at lest
time to tame—
Not to appease.
In final hundred years or so,
Perhaps I'd wed,
Or maybe reminisce instead
The countless lives, it seems, I've led.
I've had fun—and now I shed
A tear—for I've a hundred left.
Each day more precious than the rest
As light of eternity has passed—
I'm freed from her relentless grasp.
And on those final nights, the moonlight gleams,
Soft silver spills through swaying trees.
The breeze is calm, my mind feels slow—
In here, I'm here,
It's all I know.
