Lexie Night

If I Have To Go - Poem by Lexie Night

I gave you my heart
No strings attached
Was I foolish to do that?

For every sweet thing you said, I'm starting to feel dread.
Did you really mean them all? Or was it a natural reflex
I don't blame you if that's what you think
I just hope I didn't lose you
Before I even had you

All your snarky comments,
I thought you never meant.
All the rude and mean things you said without though,
Did you mean them?
I'm starting to question who you really are,
And what we are.

Maybe you really believe everything you say,
Maybe you don't mean to hurt me.
Who am I to question your trust?
But every look to her, I have noticed.
Should I make this easier for you?

My heart will always remain yours, from now until it stopped beating.
But that doesn't mean I can stay.
Being half with you half without, how can you even ask?
Watching you flirt with her. It might not mean anything
But it does to me.
Have I not made my feeling clear? On how close I hold you dear?

First love and first mistake
Honestly if I could do it again
Id rather have never taken the chance
Because from now on, from this day forward
I will always love you
Even when your through with me (which is coming soon it seems)

I hope that in the future you will be ready for me?
And that if given the chance you will come back to me?
Move on if you must, I will try to.
Just know I will always love you

I gave you my heart
No strings attached
I was foolish to do that.

This was a good write on second guessing your gut. Always trust your gut! Good feeling of emotions while I read this. Thank you for sharing it! (Report) Reply

i thought that poem was truly heart felt. You are obviously in love and your heart aches for someone who maybe does not love you back. Love is special but also so cruel (Report) Reply
