If I Were The Sun Poem by Kevin Patrick II

If I Were The Sun

If I were the sun
I would shine on you in days
When clouds formed in your mind
And your heart was filled with rain
I would spill my rays
Into your dark alleyways
Piercing the hidden corners
Which reveal your secret splendor
I would be your guide
So you never need to hide
From the fears that eat yourself
and show you the wonder that you are
I would burn away
those demons that are stray
who taunt you in your shadow
So that you're free to reach the sky

I would light the world just for you
Shine on the paths you wish
Cover you from the dark
If I were the sun
