If I Were To Really Understand The Sea

i must
understand that
i have to
dive
deeper
to the sea
perhaps
even have
to kneel
before it
feet of
water

i must
experience
its
deadly
silence

if i were
true
enough
to really
know it

i must not
only
drink
the salt of
its
existence

i must suffer
too
the extreme
pressure
beneath

till i crack
like the
hardest nut
of the
earth
