If Only - Poem by Ranock Saing

If only I was yours
I’d walk a thousand miles to get to your doors
To touch your gorgeous face, and see your smile
And dance in the rain as if I was a child
Walking by your side
My feelings can’t hide
For my feelings for you is real, I know
Each day, they continue to grow
Sometimes I dream of marriage, our children and us growing old
But it’s just what I’m thinking of what the future might hold
Whenever you are close to me
Inside, I am secretly happy
Every time we are apart,
I cry hysterically inside my heart
Without you knowing and being so close
Is what hurts me the most
Time is passing day by day
I’m running out of words to say
But I will not forget the feelings so deep
And the memories, I will always keep
To see you go, I result in great pain
And yet you remain
Time will determine when I should reveal
Because this burden I live with everyday won’t heal
Yet I do not ask you to do the same
You might think I’m lame
I’m hurt when you are sad
But I feel better when you are glad
My heart is satisfied just seeing you from a distance
Your jokes I'll keep for remembrance
You having someone is not a problem
I will live even though my heart will be numb
I am satisfied just being next to you
If only you knew
