If Only Poem by Raven Keller

If Only

Rating: 4.0

You placed your heart in my hand
My wings crumble to sand
This was not how I wanted it to be
I'm sorry
You're calling me name
'Chained not by the Earth, my love'
But too long have I been caged
If only
You showed me another path
Paved out by your dreams
When all paths lead straight to you
I'm dying
When I could not bring you happiness
And the hollow box adorned with the single ribbon
That shimmered, but could not wipe away your tears
I'm sorry
You're gentle touch
The sun
That the flowers tilt their heads
If only
Hand picken
To be with you
But fate has picked another path for me
I'm dying
You placed your heart in my hand
I'm sorry
Too long have I been chained
If only
When I could not bring your happiness
I'm dying
For fate has picked another path for me
