granting then that i have two hearts
what will i do with the other one

this one
i point to my heart
yes this one
has loved you
and still loves you more
despite the passage of so much time
it may have mellowed
and learned from the pains
of some old wounds
they healed
and learned what true love is

what will i do with this one
i point to this other heart
wanting to love
but just cannot
what will i do with this
loving but loveless heart
spare and bare
but cannot
dare

this heart shall kill me too
i may have two hearts
but i die only once
and it was only you

i live with this one heart alone
the one that bled
that healed
