If The Old Woman Was Not At Manbej Poem by Abu Firas al-Hamadani

If The Old Woman Was Not At Manbej

If the old woman was not at Manbej settled,
I would not fear the fate or seem frightened.
If not the ordeal, I would disdain to ask anyhow.
My proud soul is disdainful at past and now.
My soul was eager to ask about my mom affair
Despite of this sever doom I did not forget her
And I see my obligation toward her
Did they treat her justly and fair?
I think no one after me gives her his attention
Gloomy mother, bleak, cut off any relation.
If only any pretext would refrain!
Any delicious occasion may maintain!
If only no gloomy episode happened suddenly,
The righteous woman would live peacefully.
But the act of God still works forever decisively.
No one can escape when the matter is seriously.
Patience is as a gift, gives to who is preferable.
Ordeals are alike come as the man can bearable.
Still I sent her my letters with each traveler.
Warmth greeting I sent since I was prisoner.
A woman gathers between the religion and piety.
Her soul sublimes on precious property.
Don't be sad mom, I respect thee
Depend on Allah after me.
Don't be desperate and be healthy.
Allah has secret unknown door of mercy.
From much grief and miseries, He saves us.
His favours are numerous and cannot discuss.
I advise you to be patient and strong.
Even you cannot see me before long.
