If You Have Ever - Poem by Tracia Love Shalom

If you have ever loved
Feelings you will understand
If you have ever been hurt
You will know the nature of pain

Broken hearts and loneliness
A loved one gone to rest
Reality came knocking
Life wanted to ignore

Emotionally and physically
Photographs and memories
A combination of life
Being unpredictable

Changes each time
Fate or luck
Flesh and blood or spiritual
The will of God, unravelling

You are a really talented writer. Every time I read your poems, I feel like... I don't know... um... let's say different. You make the reader get inside the poem, and that is something that comes from inside. I love, love, love how you make it clear that you put all your heart into the art of poetry :) (Report) Reply

    Sadly beautiful.
I am experiencing a broken heart, but different kind which makes me willing to suffer more. it is described in my most recent poem, No greater love.
