If You Only Knew - Poem by Aric Beers

If you only knew the rage inside
If you saw the things I try to hide
You'd think me different then you do
You'd see that I'm human too
If you only saw the feelings deep in me
You'd know I'm not who you think me to be
I know sadness, lust, and rage
But those beasts I try to cage
I'm not the one most people see
If you saw inside you'd most likely flee
I hurt and cry and get real mad
I get jealous and real sad
If you only saw me then you'd know
That sometimes what you see is just a show
Yes, I'm happy, cheery, and bright
But I have other moods that don't see light
If you only knew the things inside
If you only saw the things I hide
