Ignite Poem by M. M. Sanchez

Ignite

Rating: 5.0

If I could draw like an artist
with admirable skill,
I would draw you
as you exist in my primary visual cortex;

all of the lovely
and changing expressions
I have caught glimpses of.
all of the lovely
and changing expressions
that speak a thousand words.

I would draw all your evolving emotions
from the first day we met
and you greeted me with excitement in your eyes,
to the day you looked at me
like I was magic,
to the night I broke your heart
into tiny fragments,
to the months later
when your hope was a dying
but still existing flame.
I would draw all of you.

You are like a walking classical symphony,
where with beauty and elegance

you ignite the world.
