Ignored Poem by Emerald Wendal

Ignored

If it were you, you'd be abhorred.
What a dreadful feeling, to be ignored.
Invisible to everyone, crying on the inside.
Holding this feeling, a load I can't abide.
I take it with a smile. A shy one at that.
I am stared through, but not at.

You hear me talking, you would never think
That this shy girl and stage life, could be linked
But true it is, I love being center stage.
People are entranced. I talk like a mage.
My voice once shy and weak, now thunders.
My friends now stare at me with wonder.
Who is this strong girl, taking the lead?
The biggest flower, comes from the smallest seed.

After its over and I'm in the school hall,
My courage is up and I can stand tall,
I take my wows, my oohs, and my ahhs,
I smile and blush, and forget what was.
But when I no longer have the floor,
I go right back to being ignored.
